Jigawa State Government has said Justice must be done to victims of the recent gas explosion in the state.

The state Deputy Governor, Malam Umar Namadi gave the assurance when he visited the District Head of Babura Sarkin ban Ringim, Nata`ala Mustapha in his palace.

DAILY POST reported that a vehicle suspected of carrying smuggled gas cylinders had exploded while being chased by customs officers on border patrol.

Six people were injured, and seventeen shops and two houses were destroyed in the incident.

The Deputy Governor while sympathizing with the victims said the State Government is disturbed by the incident and has been working to address the issue.

On his part, the district head of Babura, Nata`ala Mustapha called on the state government to take urgent action on the incident to forestall future occurrences.

DAILY POST reported that border communities had raised concern over the alleged heinous activities of customs officers and other security agencies working along the Niger and Nigerian borders.
