Members of the Imo State Chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria will once again gather to elect members into three remaining offices after getting over faction issues that saw them have multiple elections previously.
With Comr. Nneoma Ukpabi now settled as the Chairman of the guild in Imo State, they have moved to fill up the remaining offices to avoid vacuum in their executive.
Comr. Nneoma Ukpabi who took over from Mr. Conac Umez last year, has worked hard to reunite the guild ensuring that peace returns to the guild which previously had two parallel elections last year.
She has so far called on every member of the guild to return and join in building a better guild for all.
“We want to have everyone on board”, she said, adding that “Everyone has something to offer and it would really be bad to see members missing out on the love and happiness that has returned in the guild”
“We are one now and everyone is enjoying it. This election will help us fill the remaining offices. The upcoming executives will have to catch up because we have already gone far”
The election will be taking on Thursday May 29, 2018 at Bongo Center Owerri, by 1:00pm.
Offices to be contested for are Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary and Public Relations Officer. An official release has it that only members with work permit Identity cards will have the right to vote and be voted for.
