The people of the Southeast have been assured that there would be no sit-at-home across the Southeast on Tuesday.
The Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State, will on Tuesday hear the extraordinary rendition suit of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Recall that Kanu was rearrested in Kenya last year and was subjected to an extraordinary rendition.
The IPOB leader, through his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, had filed a suit contesting the extraordinary rendition the Nigerian Government subjected to him.
Kanu was picked up in Kenya due to his agitation for Biafra and Nigeria’s break up.
The IPOB leader was declared wanted by the Nigerian Government after he eloped from the country, shortly after an Abuja Federal High Court granted him bail in 2017.
Following his rearrest and ongoing trial, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had declared sit-at-home every Monday to push for Kanu’s release.
But, some miscreants took advantage of the sit-at-home order to cause havoc on the people of the Southeast.
Reacting, IPOB had cancelled the Monday sit-at-home but only gave the order whenever Kanu was meant to appear in court.
However, the sit-at-home, which is becoming a norm, will not hold on Tuesday.
Ejimakor disclosed this in a chat with DAILY POST, titled” Important Notice” on Saturday.
He wrote: “On 4th October 2022 (TUESDAY), the Federal High Court, Umuahia will hear Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Extraordinary Rendition suit.
“But there’s NO Sit-At-Home. None! Thank you!”
