Bongo artistes Obelesomtin is at it again with a brand new single titled Jelof.
The song which has already seen good airplay in radio station within the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones, according to the artiste is more than a song, but a vehicle he is propelling to catch up with artistes in other genres who are far ahead of Bongo artistes especially in the area of publicity and music promotion.
Speaking to www.otowngist.com, he said “Most Bongo artistes are okay with keeping it low, but I am very different. Bongo has always been a jolly music with lots of messages, which is why we need to export the genre before it dies out”
He believes that saying his latest single, ‘Jelof’ will be a hit, would not just be a statement for publicity, but a prophecy that has bits of it coming to pass already.
“The song was recorded in Port Harcourt and against my usual Bongo, I did something that still conforms with the codes of high-life, but for the people over there, something that will still be accepted around the country and beyond” He added.
