The Court of Appeal has fixed Thursday, November 24, to give judgment in the appeal against a high court ruling voiding the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State.

The Federal High Court sitting in Yola had last month quashed the Adamawa APC governorship primary held in May, canceled the candidacy of Senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani who won that primary, and declared that the APC had no governorship candidate for the 2023 governorship election in the state.

The APC, Binani, and Nuhu Ribadu, who instituted the original suit at the high court, had taken the case to the Court of Appeal, which has now given the Thursday judgement date.

The Appeal Court on Wednesday communicated Thursday, November 24 to the appellants as the date slated for the determination of the appeal.

DAILY POST reports that while the APC has asked the Appeal Court to declare a fresh primary for an opportunity to determine a new candidate, Ribadu wants a fresh primary from which Binani is barred, but Binani on her part is asking for reinstatement as the APC candidate.

The Appeal Court had on November 14, listened to the submissions of the three parties to the case and said it would communicate a date for judgement, which it has just done.
