There is serious pandemonium following destruction and pulling down of all the newly constructed stores at Ishinweke market in Ihitte-Uboma Local Government area of Imo State.
Our source revealed that there tension now in the area following the damages said to caused by hoodlums suspected to have been hired by the detractors of the State Government.
The story has it that the new structures erected at the market were pulled down by hoodlums few days ago and police in the area have swung into action to fish out those behind the act for them to face the music without delay.
Our reporter also gathered that following the destruction and damages caused by the unidentified group, women of the area have resolved to go on peaceful demonstration against the perpetrators of the act.
The women Trumpeta gathered are going to demonstrate half necked to show their anger on the destruction on the Ishinweke market. The market was designed by Governor Rochas Okorocha to wear a new look for the upliftment of the image of Ihitte Uboma local government area.
The women leader of the local government area, Hon Mrs Ibenye Duru, in a chat with our reporter at Ihitte Uboma condemned the act and described it as a calculated attempt by the detractors to destroy Ihitte Uboma’s progress. She therefore disclosed that the women of the area will come out in full force to pour curses on the perpetrators, adding that the wicked must not have peace in his or her life.
Dr Mrs Uche Ejiogu, the honorable member representing Ihitte Uboma in the State House of Assembly in her own speech raised eye brow on what happened and described it as the work of the devilish ones, adding that Governor Rochas Okorocha wants the best for Ihitte Uboma but the wicked ones do not want the massive development to continue. She hinted that the good work of Okorocha must surely continue.
The elders in the area vowed to get to the root of the matter and make sure that those behind the ugly Incident did not go free no matter their position and status in Ihitte Uboma.
The Royal fathers gave the women folk of the area powers to go on demonstration in few days time. We further gathered that the security agents have been dully informed about what happened as a result, full investigation has commenced.
It would be recalled that Governor Rochas Okorocha and his team few weeks ago stormed Ihitte Uboma for project monitoring but along the line he discovered the poor condition of Ishinweke market and ordered its demolition. After which contract for the rehabilitation work was awarded, just few days ago before the hoodlums struck.
