In a bid to expand and deepen the Shared Prosperity Agenda, the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has matched words with action with the empowerment of 25,000 poor and vulnerable Imo citizens through a conditional cash transfer.

Governor Uzodimma in his address at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri, disclosed that the conditional cash transfer is not for payback but a grant for their upkeep to help stimulate the state’s economy against the impacts of Covid 19 and banditry.

According to the Governor, “assisting the poor and vulnerable in our society is also at the core of the shared prosperity agenda of this administration. We are poised to deliver Imo State from hardship and poverty”.

The empowerment of the 25,000 Imolites was made under the IMO CARES PROGRAM which is an offshoot of the Federal Government NG-CARES program.

The conditional cash transfer will be given in 2 tranches, this month December and next month.
