The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has promised that if voted in as the next President of Nigeria, his government would declare total war on constant power supply failure.

Obi stated this during his presidential campaign rally at the Polo Ground, Minna, Niger State.

Lamenting the situation, he said there can be no meaningful industrial development without power as being witnessed in the nation.

He explained that the Obi/Datti presidential ticket would also accord priority to fighting insecurity currently ravaging the nation by ensuring the security of the lives and properties of Nigerians.

“We want to stop the kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and others. We will fight insecurity to a standstill. The criminals, those terrorists, are not more formidable than the government. When we get in, we will ensure that they have no opportunity to operate. In this area, I can assure you that you will not find us wanting,” he stated.

“It is not by my turn, but your turn to take your country, we are representing your turn. Therefore, give your votes during the election for a new Nigeria”.

Earlier, Obi’s running mate, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, in his address, noted the need for Nigerians to do things differently by ensuring they don’t vote for those that would further destroy the country.

“Things have to be done differently to get a different result for us to come out of the bad situation we are going through. Use your reasoning, logic when bringing in leaders. Elect those that will not steal from you. The Labour Party will keep it’s promises. We will stop the stealing, and start the keeping, the kidnapping and will start the healing, if voted,” he said.
