An Ekiti State Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered the remand of a set of twins, Taiwo and Kehinde Sunday, at a correctional centre for allegedly breaking into a house to steal electronics and other goods valued at N825,000 in the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the teenagers are facing two-count of housebreaking and stealing.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Olubu Apata, told the court that the defendants committed the offence around 1am on January 28, in the Ilupeju area of the state.

Apata said, “The defendants broke into the house of one Ogunyemi Kayode, stole his electronics, mattress and other valuable goods valued at N825,000 belonging to the complainant.

“The offences contravened Sections 412, 323(a) and (c) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.” He urged the court to remand the defendants to the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.

The Chief Magistrate, Kehinde Awosika, ordered the remand of the defendants at the correctional centre pending issuance of legal advice and adjourned the case till April 27 for mention.
