The State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha says he is still in charge of the All Progressives Party, APC, in Imo State.

Owelle Okorocha stated this when he addressed Imo Youth who paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Owerri.

The Governor recounted the political Journey that brought him into office as Governor in twenty eleven under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, which he said was made possible through the help of God and support of Imo people.

He noted that the political elites in the State have never supported his administration because of his refusal to waste or share the State’s resources but rather he has channeled it in developing the State as could be attested by Imo people.

The Governor said his main purpose of joining the All Progressives Party, APC, was to connect the State to the national politics adding that despite the derogatory names attributed to the party and lack of support from Imo Political elites, APC has become stronger in the State and the South East in general.

Owelle Okorocha expressed regret on the conspiracy of the National Chairman of APC and a group of the party’s Chieftains from the State against him because of his stand against the tenure elongation of the National Working Committee of the party, describing the gang up as exercise in futility.

According to the Governor, no party Congress was conducted in the State disclosing that a court injunction from the Federal High Court Owerri has been obtained in that regard.

He commended Imo Youths for their support and urged them to ensure the election of Chief Uche Nwosu as Governor in twenty ninety as he is capable of sustaining his development efforts especially the vision of establishing factories in every Community in the State.
