Police in Katsina State have neutralised two suspected gunmen in Katsina State and also recovered two AK-47 Rifles from them.

The incident happened on Thursday after the State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit received the information.

The suspects were apprehended while planning to abduct a renowned businessman in the state.

The police spokesman, CSP Gambo Isah, on Friday, disclosed that investigations are still ongoing and that a full report will be made available afterwards.

However, the body of one Samaila Shehu, ‘M’, of Tsaunin Kura village, Malumfashi LGA in the state was discovered after a gun duel between security operatives and the gunmen.

Shehu is said to be a suspected notorious terrorist, who was arrested in 2020 in connection with the attack at GSS Malumfashi Staff Quarters, Katsina and was charged to court back then
