A chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural organization has said the President-elect, Bola Tinubu can release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, during his inauguration.

Isiguzoro made the remark while backing Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State for urging Tinubu to release Kanu.

Soludo had said he would appeal to Tinubu to release the IPOB leader if President Muhammadu Buhari failed to release him.

The Ohanaeze Secretary-General, said releasing Kanu was part of its demands from Tinubu.

He urged Tinubu to ensure that Igbos are accommodated in his incoming administration.

Speaking with DAILY POST, Isiguzoro said: “It’s only Tinubu that will release Nnamdi Kanu because he was once an activist during the NADECO days.

“So, he understands the plight of political activism, so Soludo’s appeal is the expectation of Ndigbo.

“On assuming power on May 29, Tinubu can release Nnamdi Kanu from the Eagles Square, and we are going as an Igbo delegation to the inauguration.

“Our two cardinal points and demands are clear, millions of Igbos will storm Abuja on May 29 to ensure that Igbos are accommodated in playing a leading role in Tinubu’s administration. He has what it takes to bring the best brains in ensuring that his administration succeeds.

“The second request is that the millions of Igbos who will be in Abuja for the inauguration and supporting the president will be looking forward to jubilate when we hear him say in his inaugural speech that he has granted presidential pardon to the leader of IPOB.

“The release of Nnamdi Kanu from the Eagles Square will turn the sympathy they have for other presidential candidates towards Kanu.

“The release of Kanu from the Eagles Square will be a Sunami that would sweep across the length and breadth of Nigeria and make his government of the administration of the masses.”
