Police in Imo State have arrested Charles Ugwu a former PDP Chairman.

Charles Ugwu according to reports was arrested over a number of allegations including burglary, looting and vandalization of the party office in Owerri, Imo State.

Having been suspended by the party a few days ago, Ugwu is still insisting that he is the party chairman in the state and it is alleged that these are more reasons for his arrest.

He was accused of aiding the burgling and looting of the party office where party members have said that some properties are missing.

With the police yet to release an official statement, unverified reports on the internet have it that Ugwu has agreed to have visited the office after his suspension to collect some important files.

The accusation of visiting the party secretariat with thugs to vandalize properties is yet to be verified and the true reasons while he was arrested will be in the official police statement when it is eventually released.
