The Niger State Government has declared a seven-day public holiday for civil servants in the state.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago made the declaration at the end-of-year cake cutting with all members of the State Executive Council in Minna, the state capital.

The governor explained that the public holiday was to enable civil servants to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

According to him, the holiday is scheduled to commence from “Friday, December 22, 2023, to Monday, January 1, 2024.”

He disclosed that food will be given to government officials for onward distribution to the less privileged in their local government areas and wards.
