Several schools in Jaipur, a city in western India, were evacuated after receiving bomb threats via email. The threats claimed that explosives had been planted on the premises of at least four schools on Monday.
Upon receiving the threats, school authorities immediately contacted the police. Law enforcement swiftly responded by deploying bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs to conduct thorough searches of the schools.
Fortunately, no suspicious items have been discovered thus far, leading the police to suspect that the threats were a hoax.
Jaipur police commissioner Biju George Joseph confirmed the incident, stating, “Four to five schools have received bomb threats. Police have reached the schools.”
Authorities are actively working to identify the sender of the threatening emails.
This incident comes in the wake of similar threats received by the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and several hospitals in the national capital, which were also targeted via email on Sunday.
Earlier this month, over 100 schools in Delhi’s capital region had received comparable threats, causing widespread panic and concern among residents.
