Mutiu Salako, a Point of Sale (POS) operator at Oke Lantoro in Abeokuta, Ogun State, was reportedly shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen at 6 pm on Sunday.

While a viral WhatsApp message suggested the attack was linked to cult-related violence, police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident on Monday as a case of attempted robbery.

Odutola stated that police officers from Kemta Division responded to the incident, during which two gunmen on a motorcycle shot Salako. Despite efforts, Salako succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
