Chelsea legend John Terry has paid tribute to Thiago Silva, who is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer to join Palmeiras as a free agent.
Silva, who joined Chelsea in 2020 after departing Paris Saint-Germain, has made 112 Premier League appearances and contributed to 32 clean sheets during his time with the club.
His leadership was crucial in Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League victory, among other accomplishments.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, Terry shared a message and a picture of Silva:
“Good luck today in what will be an emotional day at the Bridge. @chelseafc Thank you for everything you have done for our club, we love you, my friend.
“It’s been a pleasure to watch you play week after week, to watch you train and see how you take care of yourself before and after games has been inspiring. I just wish I was a few years younger because I would have loved to have played alongside you at the back.
“Good luck for the future @thiagosilva. JT. LEGEND.”
Silva’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter for Chelsea, as the club bids farewell to a player who has left a lasting impact both on and off the field.
