A 36-year-old woman, Oluwakemi Adegoke, was arraigned by the Lagos Police on Tuesday in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing property worth N225,000.

Adegoke, whose address remains unknown, faces a single charge of theft. She pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Inspector Ayodele Adeosun informed the court that Adegoke committed the alleged offense on May 20 at No. 4, Salem Street, Aradagun, Badagry, Lagos. The stolen property reportedly belonged to Mrs. Toyin Adewusi, the complainant.

The charge contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Chief Magistrate N. A. Layeni granted Adegoke bail in the amount of N200,000 with one surety of the same sum and adjourned the case to June 28 for mention.
