Calls for Unwavering Support and Cooperation from Citizens
On June 15, 2024, Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma of the Imo State Command held a crucial security meeting with the Honorable Commissioner of Imo State Ministry of Homeland Security and various heads of security agencies. The focus was on fortifying internal security and fostering peace and stability in the state to drive economic growth and development.
Held at the Command’s headquarters in Owerri, the meeting allowed security leaders to thoroughly assess the state’s security challenges and brainstorm collaborative strategies to address them effectively.
Participants included Hon. Modestus Osakwe, Commissioner for Homeland Security, Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Air Force Commander, representative of the Oguta Naval Base Commander, Director of DSS, NSCDC Commander, Federal Fire Service Commander, FRSC Commander, and the Comptrollers of Immigration, Correctional Service, and Customs Service.
As a result, the State’s Joint Task Force has been strategically deployed in coordination with local vigilantes to conduct intelligence-led raids on criminal hideouts. This deployment aims to maintain a high level of alertness and professionalism across the state’s security landscape.
Commissioner Danjuma emphasized the critical role of citizens in combating crime, urging the people of Imo State to support law enforcement by providing timely and actionable information about any suspicious activities or individuals.
Reaffirming the Command’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and working collaboratively with other security agencies, CP Danjuma stressed the importance of public cooperation in ensuring the safety and security of the state.
