A man named Eric and his girlfriend were found dead in their home in the Ayeyemi area of Ondo West Local Government. The discovery was made on Saturday, and according to Channels TV, the couple was discovered in the man’s apartment.
Neighbors speculated that the tragedy might have occurred due to electrocution, as the couple had a generator running and a phone charging in a socket on the bed. They suggested that the woman’s chain could have come into contact with the socket, leading to the fatal incident.
A resident, Ayo, recounted that Eric’s relatives found the bodies when they went to check on him after he failed to answer his phone. Peering through the window, they saw the lifeless bodies and had to break down the door to enter the house.
SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the incident, noting that the couple had been in a relationship for about two years with both families aware of their union. The bodies have been taken to a nearby hospital morgue.
