A young man, yet to be identified, was electrocuted near the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) center in Otukpo, the main town of Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State.

The individual, suspected to be a thief, had completed the act of vandalizing a transformer on a high-tension pole. Unfortunately for him, the power supply, which had been cut off, was suddenly restored by the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC), leading to his electrocution.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the incident happened late on Friday. On Saturday morning, the man’s lifeless body was discovered hanging from the high-tension pole, attracting a large crowd of onlookers.
