Former Super Eagles stars, including Elderson Echiejile and Emmanuel Emenike, gathered in Efen Ikot Okoro, Ika Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, to pay their respects at the funeral of Vincent Enyeama’s father, Philip Robin Enyeama.

Philip Robin Enyeama, who dedicated years of service to the sports department at the University of Uyo and guided their football team to numerous tournaments, passed away on February 22 at the age of 92 after a brief illness.

The funeral arrangements were both solemn and colorful, beginning with the opening of the mourning house on July 1 at 10:00 AM at his country home in Efen Ikot Okoro. The lying-in-state took place on the morning of July 5, followed by the burial at St. Patrick’s Parish in Urua Inyang, Ika LGA.

Vincent Enyeama, renowned for his goalkeeping skills, represented Nigeria from 2002 to 2015, earning 101 caps and securing his place as one of the country’s most celebrated players.

The presence of his former teammates underscored the deep respect and admiration they hold for Vincent and his late father, honoring a man who made significant contributions to sports in Nigeria.
