The Abia State Government is set to launch a N1 billion interest-free revolving loan scheme under the Abia Cooperatives Scheme. Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, announced this at Government House, Umuahia, revealing that 9,200 residents across the state’s 184 wards will benefit.

Each ward will have 50 beneficiaries in the first phase of the program, aimed at providing palliative and empowerment support to improve livelihoods. The initiative, scheduled to commence on July 11, 2024, aligns with Dr. Alex Otti’s campaign promise to bolster nano and micro business operators amidst economic challenges.
