An Anambra-based 26-year-old carpenter and CEO of Carpenterway, Nelson Okafor, has highlighted the opportunities available in learning crafts, particularly carpentry, amidst a backdrop of increasing fraud cases.

Speaking at a seminar for aspiring young entrepreneurs in Awka, Okafor emphasized the dignity of labor and urged youths to consider alternative career paths beyond white-collar jobs. He spoke against the prevalent “Japa syndrome” and encouraged young people to hone their skills and pursue honest livelihoods instead of engaging in fraudulent activities.

Okafor shared insights from his own journey in carpentry, underscoring the financial potential and personal fulfillment that come with mastering a trade. He recounted handling interior projects worth over N200 million, attributing his success to both his educational background and hands-on skills in carpentry and interior design.
