Nigerian afrobeats sensation Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artist to reach two billion streams in the United Kingdom.

The milestone was celebrated with a Brit plaque presentation during his sold-out concert at Koko Camden in London on Monday night. This achievement follows just weeks after he received a Brit plaque for one billion streams at his show at the London Stadium last month.

During the ceremony, Burna Boy expressed his gratitude and shared his thoughts on the significance of the moment. “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve got to fight for your right,” he remarked.

One of the presenters suggested that he no longer needed to fight since he had already achieved this honor, to which Burna Boy replied, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”

With this remarkable achievement, Burna Boy continues to pave the way for African artists on the global stage.
