The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially concluded the sale of forms for the forthcoming local government elections. The announcement was made in a release signed by the Organizing Secretary, Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu, stating that the sale ended on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
In preparation for the primaries, the party has laid out a detailed schedule of activities. The screening of Chairmanship aspirants is set for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the PDP State Secretariat located at 98 Okigwe Road, Owerri. The following day, Thursday, July 18, 2024, the screening of Councillorship aspirants will take place at the same venue.
The primaries for both positions are scheduled shortly after the screenings: Chairmanship primaries on July 19 and Councillorship primaries on July 20.
The PDP has urged all aspirants, stakeholders, and members to adhere strictly to the timetable. To ensure a smooth and transparent process, the party has established committees dedicated to screening the aspirants.
