Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has responded to Peter Obi’s endorsement of the nationwide protest scheduled for August 1. Onanuga has urged Obi to demonstrate true leadership by actively participating in the protest, much like President Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari did in past demonstrations.

In a post on X, Onanuga challenged Obi to lead from the front rather than orchestrate the protest from behind the scenes. He emphasized that effective leadership involves taking an active role in guiding and managing the protest to prevent potential excesses.

Onanuga’s remarks come in the wake of Omoyele Sowore’s call for a nationwide rally to protest against the current administration’s handling of economic issues, including widespread hunger and suffering.
