Rahimat Salaum, a resident of Pegi in Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory, has been apprehended for allegedly murdering her husband. The arrest was confirmed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who revealed the details in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Adeh, the incident came to light on Monday, July 29, 2024, when Salaum was caught attempting to flee with her deceased husband’s belongings. Police officers from the Pegi Police Division quickly intervened and took her into custody.

During questioning, Salaum admitted to killing her husband following a heated argument. She then led the police to an uncompleted building where she had disposed of his severely burned body.

The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, assured that a thorough investigation is underway and emphasized that justice will be pursued rigorously. He also encouraged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
