Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has been released from prison after serving time for the abuse of naira notes. The crossdresser, who was convicted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 5, faced charges related to the mutilation of currency.

Bobrisky, who had pleaded guilty to four counts of naira abuse, was granted release on Monday, August 5, 2024. Following his release, he was seen celebrating with friends, enjoying music by Mohbad and Chike. In a video shared online, his friends congratulated him on his freedom.

The EFCC had initially pursued the case against Bobrisky for his actions involving the defacement of naira notes, which led to his conviction and subsequent imprisonment.
