Abia State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of eleven people, including two infants, in a tragic road accident near Umuika Junction on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway. The fatal collision, which occurred on Sunday, involved a Toyota Sienna Bus belonging to Abia Line Network Transport LTD and a truck.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Abia State, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST, stating that the report has been received and that an investigation is currently underway. While ASP Chinaka did not disclose further details about the victims’ identities or the precise number of casualties, she assured the public that more information would be provided as the investigation progresses.

The bodies of the deceased have been transported to a nearby mortuary as authorities continue to gather details on the accident.
