Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has confidently declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will produce the next governor of Abia State in the 2027 elections. According to Kalu, the current governor, Alex Otti, will be the last Labour Party (LP) candidate to hold the office in the state.

Speaking during an interview, Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency under the APC, stated unequivocally that his party is determined to take control of the state’s leadership. He attributed his confidence to the hard work of President Bola Tinubu, who he believes is making significant strides that will ensure the APC’s victory in Abia.

“This will be the last time that a Labour governor will govern Abia state. I say it without mincing words. The next governor of Abia state will be from the APC,” Kalu declared.

He assured that the APC’s efforts, combined with the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, would resonate with the people of Abia and lead to a shift in power.

Kalu further highlighted the benefits Abia State has received under Tinubu’s government, including the establishment of the South East Development Commission and strategic appointments of Abians into key positions. He expressed confidence that the people of Abia would reward the APC for these contributions.

“APC will determine who will become the next governor of Abia State. I don’t care who the person is, but one thing I know is that the platform will be APC,” Kalu concluded.
