Tragedy struck over the weekend as Ajibade Owefoso, a prominent correspondent for Trust TV in Imo State, was discovered dead in his Lagos residence. Neighbors, alarmed by his lack of response to repeated knocks on his door, forced entry and found his lifeless body. His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the journalistic community and beyond.

Ajibade, who recently laid his father-in-law to rest in Imo State, is survived by his wife and three children. His colleagues and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) had shown solidarity during his time of mourning.

The Chief Operating Office of Trust TV, Ibrahim Shehu Adamu, paid tribute to Ajibade, praising his dynamic reporting and dedication. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State also extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, describing Ajibade as a committed journalist who upheld the ethics of his profession.
