Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has described her decision to divorce her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, as the best choice she has ever made. The actress, who has been open about her struggles with the marriage, shared this while advising a fellow single mother who reached out to her on social media.

In a private message, the woman asked how Dikeh managed to cope when her ex-husband left her and their son. In her response, Dikeh corrected the narrative, explaining that she was the one who made the decision to leave the marriage for the sake of her well-being and that of her child.

“First and foremost, I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage, not the other way around,” Dikeh said. “I needed to escape a difficult situation, not just for my own sake, but for my child as well. Best decision I ever made.”

Dikeh emphasized the importance of personal growth and investing in oneself, assuring the woman that she has the power to create a better life for herself and her child. She encouraged single mothers to draw strength from God and to keep family matters private, sharing that her journey has been guided by love and faith.

In her Instagram post, Dikeh shared, “Dear single mothers, I don’t have a manual for these things. I am neither a pro in this movement. My biggest teacher has been love. I just let God do his thing, and his thing is enough for me.”

Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill’s marriage ended in 2017, following allegations of infidelity and domestic violence. Despite their divorce, the former couple has continued to engage in public disputes, with Dikeh accusing Churchill of being an absentee father, while Churchill claims that Dikeh has denied him access to their son.
