The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has debunked recent media reports suggesting that former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is currently in their custody. According to a press release issued by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, Bello remains wanted by the commission for alleged involvement in a N80.2 billion money laundering case.

The EFCC clarified that while there is a standing warrant for his arrest, Yahaya Bello has not been apprehended and is not being held at any EFCC facility. The Commission urged the public to disregard the false reports, emphasizing that efforts are ongoing to bring the former governor to justice.
