Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has claimed that Iran is plotting to assassinate him, warning that the U.S. military is closely monitoring the situation. Trump made the revelation via his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), noting that Iran had already made one attempt, which failed.

In a series of statements, Trump explained, “Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone.”

Trump also expressed his appreciation for bipartisan support in Congress, which unanimously approved additional funding for his security detail. “I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to the Secret Service. Strictly bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something,” he added.

This claim comes months after a reported assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania by 20-year-old Mathews Crooks, who allegedly fired shots at the former president during his campaign but missed.

Trump emphasized that any attack on a former president would have dire consequences for the assailant, describing such an act as a “death wish” for the attacker.
