Tragedy struck in Lokoja, Kogi State, as a 19-year-old man, Abba Yusuf, reportedly stabbed his father, 60-year-old Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather, to death in the Sarkin-Noma area. The horrifying incident occurred over the weekend at around 8:30 a.m.
An eyewitness confirmed that the victim was fatally stabbed by his son in a shocking act of violence. Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, the elder brother of the deceased, revealed that he was informed of the incident by a family member and rushed to the scene, only to discover that his brother had been taken to a hospital.
The suspect, Abba Yusuf, has been handed over to the police, while the suspect’s mother and two siblings have reportedly fled to an undisclosed location. Efforts to get comments from the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, have so far been unsuccessful as he has not responded to calls or messages.
