A female trader identified as Rukaiyyat collapsed after losing N2.3 million in cash at the Abaji main market, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The incident occurred on Friday morning, around 9:45 am, when Rukaiyyat, who had traveled from Auchi to buy farm produce, realized the money she had kept inside a sack had mysteriously disappeared. Witnesses, including Yakubu Musa, confirmed that the woman was busy measuring melon and groundnuts into sacks when the money was stolen.

According to Musa, “She was preparing to pay the traders after packing the grains, only to discover that the sack containing N2.3 million had vanished. She immediately slumped, crying that the money was a loan she took in Edo State for her business.”
