Police in Ondo State have arrested a 34-year-old man, Monday Chukwu, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Kefa Ofando, to death during an argument over a N2,000 debt. The incident occurred in Akintola village, Odigbo Local Government Area, after Ofando, aged 30, demanded repayment of the debt from Chukwu.

According to the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Oladipo Abayomi, what began as a heated argument escalated into violence when Chukwu reportedly stabbed Ofando in the neck with a pair of scissors. Ofando succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital due to excessive bleeding.

The police responded swiftly to the report, arresting Chukwu shortly after the incident. Investigations revealed that the two men had been involved in a dispute over the money, which led to the fatal confrontation.
