Nigerian actress Ini Edo has addressed widespread rumors regarding her potential engagement, sparked by a viral post in September 2024 where she shared a photo of herself in a traditional Efik bridal gown. In an exclusive interview with Premium Times, the star clarified that the post was merely a promotional image for her upcoming series My Fairytale Wedding and not an indication of personal plans.

When asked about her views on marriage, Edo revealed that it is no longer a priority for her. “I’m not crazy about marriage; I’m crazy about having a solid relationship. I’m not hoping, and it’s not any of my prayer points,” she said.

Ini Edo, who was previously married to Nigerian-American businessman Philip Ehiagwina from 2008 to 2014, has since shifted her focus towards more meaningful relationships and professional projects.

Her statements come at a time when many fans have speculated about her personal life, with some assuming that the bridal image signaled a new chapter in the actress’s romantic life. However, Edo made it clear that her focus lies in maintaining solid, healthy relationships rather than pursuing the idea of marriage.

In the four-part series My Fairytale Wedding, set for release soon, Edo portrays a character navigating the highs and lows of love and commitment, a role that inspired the much-discussed bridal post.

The actress remains a beloved figure in Nollywood, and while the rumors of her engagement have been put to rest, fans can look forward to seeing her on-screen in what promises to be a captivating series.
