Lagos Fashion Week 2024 has been a dazzling spectacle of style, creativity, and cultural celebration.
Held at the Federal Palace in Lagos, this year’s event embraced the theme “Commune,” highlighting the unity and diversity of African fashion.

Celebrities on the Runway: The runway was graced by several high-profile celebrities, adding star power to the event. Afrobeat sensation Davido made a striking appearance, donning a regal traditional outfit from Nigerian menswear brand Ugo Monye. Reality TV star Dorathy Bachor turned heads in a strapless brown midi dress with cut-out pieces designed by Hertunba. Veteran actress Kate Henshaw also walked the runway, showcasing a stunning piece by Ejiro Amos Tafiri1. Other notable appearances included Kanaga Jnr and Shaun Okojie, both modelling for Cute Saint.

Designers Showcased: Over 60 designers participated in this year’s Lagos Fashion Week, each bringing their unique flair to the runway. Highlights included collections from Lagos Space Programme, Hertunba, and Iremitide Iamisigo, impressed with carefully knitted bikini sets paired with thigh-high knitted socks. At the same time, Kílèntár showcased the aesthetic power of combining textures, featuring a halter neck top made of paillettes with a fringed maxi skirt Awa Meite incorporated traditional African fabrics into modern designs, celebrating the continent’s rich cultural heritage.
