Popular social media critic Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of wielding undue influence over the Nigerian judiciary. The allegations follow the demolition of a property reportedly situated opposite Wike’s residence in the Asokoro area of Abuja.
Taking to his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan shared an appeal from one of the victims of the demolition, who claimed the property was targeted for takeover despite a decade of development. The critic expressed skepticism about the motives behind the demolition, calling the action suspicious due to its proximity to Wike’s residence.
“This place is said to be opposite Wike’s house, which I find very suspicious. May God not let this evil happen to us. It’s painful to think no one believes in the justice system in Nigeria anymore,” VeryDarkMan said in his post.
He further alleged that Wike has compromised the judiciary by acquiring land and properties for judges, making it difficult for victims to seek justice. “Imagine leaving the court to cry on social media because there’s no trust in the system. How do you carry out such actions without proper notice? Do you even consider the security implications?” he questioned.
VeryDarkMan’s comments have sparked debates online, with many Nigerians expressing concerns over the impartiality of the judiciary and the potential abuse of power by influential figures.
