The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a major policy shift, removing the requirement for married female corps members to change their maiden names to their spouse’s names as a condition for redeployment.

This development was outlined in a circular dated November 25, 2024, and signed by the Director of Corps Mobilisation, Abubakar Mohammed. Titled “Review of Criteria for Concessional Deployment/Relocation for Married Female Corps Members,” the document clarified that other existing requirements for redeployment remain unchanged.
