Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the 2024 Lagos Electricity Bill into law, marking a major step toward transforming power supply across the state. The signing ceremony at the State House in Ikeja was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, lawmakers, and key stakeholders from the energy and private sectors.

Describing the law as a “transformative blueprint,” Sanwo-Olu emphasized its potential to enhance energy equity, drive economic growth, and promote environmental sustainability. The governor noted that the legislation would reshape Lagos’ power landscape, ensuring consistent electricity for businesses and households, and advancing the state’s vision for a 24-hour economy.
