The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of falsely taking credit for road projects largely completed by his predecessors, Rauf Aregbesola and Adegboyega Oyetola. The APC claims that Adeleke’s administration only contributed 20% to the recently commissioned Stadium-Testing Ground-Oke-Baale-Ilesa-Garage road, while his predecessors accounted for 80% of the project’s progress.

This allegation follows the road’s commissioning on Wednesday during the governor’s second-year anniversary, with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in attendance. Makinde praised Adeleke’s administration and endorsed his re-election bid for 2026.

In a statement, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi criticized Adeleke’s administration, accusing it of completing and commissioning the road without adhering to the original two-layer design. The APC alleged that the project is incomplete, lacking the required wearing course overlay, and described the event as an attempt to deceive the public.

The APC further alleged that the previous administrations had already spent ₦15 billion on the project, leaving only ₦3 billion for completion. The party challenged Adeleke’s claim of completing 250 kilometers of lighting projects, alleging that the actual figure is closer to 20 kilometers.

The APC called on Governor Adeleke to desist from taking undue credit for the achievements of past administrations, warning that efforts to erase the contributions of Oyetola and Aregbesola would ultimately fail.
