The First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, visited the Eze Imo Palace in Owerri on Friday to express gratitude to Imo State monarchs for their support during the 2023 presidential election and to reaffirm her optimism about Nigeria’s brighter future. Her visit precedes the honorary doctorate degree set to be conferred on her by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Speaking at the event attended by traditional rulers and government officials, Mrs. Tinubu highlighted the resilience of Nigerians during challenging times and urged collective commitment to unlocking the country’s potential. “Nigeria will be better because God is with us, and this Christmas will be sweet,” she said, commending Governor Hope Uzodimma for his transformative leadership in Imo State.

Governor Uzodimma lauded the First Lady as the most dedicated and compassionate he has encountered in over 40 years in politics. He reassured her of Imo’s unwavering support for the Tinubu administration and emphasized the federal government’s efforts to stabilize the economy amid global challenges.

The Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze EC Okeke, praised Mrs. Tinubu for keeping her promise to visit the monarchs and reaffirmed Imo’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.
