Tragedy struck Gaina village in Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State as a 57-year-old man, Alhaji Mohammed Samaila, was shot and killed by suspected armed robbers in the early hours of December 14, 2024.
According to eyewitnesses, four armed men stormed Samaila’s residence at approximately 2:50 a.m., demanding money before shooting him and fleeing with an undisclosed sum. A relative, Alhaji Samaila Gaina, who was present during the attack, immediately alerted the police at around 3:10 a.m.
The Bauchi State Police Command Spokesman, Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident, stating that the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Misau but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Wakili also revealed that a team of homicide detectives has been deployed to investigate the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Our investigators are working diligently to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime, ensuring justice for the victim and his family,” Wakili assured.
This brutal act has left the Gaina community in shock, sparking calls for improved security measures to protect residents from such violent crimes.
