Owerri, Imo State – Arise Africa magazine has taken a bold step towards alleviating hunger and spreading holiday cheer with the launch of its “Smile at Christmas” street feeding initiative on Friday, December 6, 2024. The program commenced with a large-scale community feeding event across several locations in Owerri Municipal, including Control Post Junction, Douglas, Orji, and Okwurata streets.

The event coincided with the birthday and anniversary celebration of Arise Africa’s founder, who personally distributed food packs and water to the less privileged. The initiative, powered by donations from the Arise Africa community, aims to tackle food insecurity while fostering a sense of hope and belonging among vulnerable groups.

Speaking during the event, the founder highlighted the critical need to address hunger and mobilize collective efforts to support the underserved. “Food insecurity remains a pressing issue in our society. This initiative is more than providing meals—it’s about restoring hope, dignity, and compassion,” he said.
