Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has accused his ex-lover Queen Dami, former wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, of being a spiritual hindrance to his Grammy ambitions. The ‘Zazu’ crooner made the claims during an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, attributing his lack of international recognition to the negative impact of their relationship.
“She [Queen Dami] is one of the reasons I don’t have a Grammy award, considering how much effort I put into my music,” Portable said. He alleged that Queen Dami’s infidelity and lack of loyalty caused him setbacks in his career.
Portable suggested a spiritual dimension to their breakup, claiming that his prayers to ‘ifa’ to remove misfortunes from his life coincided with Queen Dami leaving him. “Usually, if I date a woman who is faithful to me, I will cash out, but if she frolics or has sexual relationships with other men, I will retrogress. I would have won a Grammy by now if she hadn’t been in my life,” he added.
The pair recently ended their relationship following a public disagreement on social media. Portable’s remarks have sparked widespread reactions online, with many questioning his claims and others engaging in lively debates about his career trajectory.
Portable, known for his controversial antics, continues to make headlines with his unique blend of music and candid revelations.
