Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has shared the intense preparation she underwent to deliver an authentic performance in the recently released Netflix series Seven Doors. Playing the role of an Igbo queen married to a Yoruba king, portrayed by Femi Adebayo, Chioma had to speak fluent Yoruba throughout the series, a task that required her to learn the language from scratch.

“I had to learn Yoruba for my role in Seven Doors. The Yoruba in the movie was not the regular one spoken in Lagos State, so I had to be very particular about the tone,” Chioma revealed during a recent interview with TVC, where she appeared alongside her co-star Femi Adebayo.
