Afrobeats sensation Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has disclosed that he spends over N15 million annually on assisting beggars, while lamenting the unending pressure from fans demanding help.

The “Who’s Your Guy” hitmaker took to Instagram to share his frustrations, revealing that he spends at least N100,000 daily on gifts whenever he steps out in Lagos. With an average of three outings weekly, Spyro estimates this adds up to N1.2 million per month and over N15 million per year.

“Every day I step out of my house, I spend a minimum of N100k on gifts. Now let’s do the maths: that’s about N15 million a year. Kilode,” he wrote. Despite his generosity, Spyro recounted a bitter experience where a man insulted him for not being able to offer financial help at that moment.

The singer expressed his struggle with the expectations placed on celebrities, highlighting how his assistance often goes unreciprocated. “I told a guy I didn’t have anything and would see him the next day, and he rained insults on me,” he added.

Spyro’s candid revelations shed light on the pressure many entertainers face to maintain their public image while balancing personal finances and emotional well-being.
